08 June 2019

U-Dream Global’s Cape to Cairo Programme is an ambitious aviation outreach initiative for teenagers, founded by teenager Megan Werner.

Megan is a teen pilot, author and motivational speaker. Her passion to make a difference founded U-Dream Global to inspire her peers to follow their dreams. That is when she came up with the idea to build a plane and fly it across Africa and in so doing inspire teenagers to set huge goals and dreams and then equip them to achieve those dreams.

The first phase of the programme was to build the aircraft.

A group of high school students were invited to participate in a competition where the top 20 finalists were selected to build a Sling 4 aeroplane during the June/July 2018 school holidays. The Sling 4 building project commenced from 22nd June until 16th July 2018 by the top 20 finalists.

During this process, ExecuJet sponsored:

The departure of the Sling 4 took place on Saturday, 15th June 2019 from Cape Town. Abel Dlamini, a pilot from ExecuJet is part of the crew and will fly in the Sling from Cape Town as far as Windhoek, Namibia.
